Blackwell Elementary Monday Chess Class

Tim and I are excited to be back at Blackwell Elementary School! We were really happy
with how everything went last year and are looking forward to another great year. For
this year’s class we will start online again and depending how things go possibly move
to in person later in the year. This year we will offer two class options. One class will be
from 7:50am-8:50am on Mondays and the other from 4:45pm-5:45pm on Wednesdays.
We hope to offer an advanced and beginner class on each day but will be based on
numbers. We will do online lessons, puzzles and other activities with the students
during class. We were really happy with chesskid allowing the students to practice their
chess against other students, do puzzles and get extra lessons so we will be providing a
gold membership again with registration. Sportsmanship is stressed throughout the
class with a strong focus on critical thinking.
Kindergartners: To be ready for chess, your kindergartner should be able to do simple
math and some reading and writing. I am offering an 8-week trial for $88 (for
Kindergartners only). Email me if you would like to do the trial option or have any
questions. If your child does not know how to move the pieces please email me and I
will schedule a time before class to teach them how all the pieces move.
Dates: Monday September 27–May 16 th (28 classes).
No Class: 10/11, 12/20, 12/27, 1/17, 2/21, 4/4,
Price: $308 ($11.00 per class).
Class Meets Online Through Zoom.
