Winter & Spring Hindi Classes summary:

Sunday Mornings: 10am - 11am PT (1- hour class)

Language will be taught primarily through activities and verbal skills will include lots of repetition. Look forward to stories, poems, songs, and art/craft activities in Hindi. Children will play games in class and learn recognition, sound & writing  the Basic Hindi alphabets (Devanagari script Swar & Vyanjan) & numbers (Devanagari script Sankhya) in a fun way. We will also work on vocabulary building and grammar in addition to alphabets and numbers, shapes, and colors in Hindi . The sessions will also focus on Winter & Spring surroundings with a focus on cultural festivals from South Asia and the United States in those seasons and apply their learnings through art.

We also include games, like “Simon ne Kaha” ('Simon Says'), Dhoondo (Scavenger Hunt) in Hindi. Children will learn through daily activities like telling the time and placing a take-out order in Hindi. Children will also be part of a drama/play in Hindi to engage in a dialogue and practice phrases and words in Hindi learned during class. Children will be tested at the end of the semester to gauge their learning and will receive a certificate of completion.
